This August,  Flinthills High School Speech Students discussed the communication skills which make a difference in the presentation of oneself.  These efforts included memorable handshakes, sincere eye contact, non verbal communication awareness, and positive appearance traits.

Students learned the impression either positive or negative representation of these skills can leave on others.  Although these important behaviors are usually most noted in interviews with future employers,  FHS freshmen, sophomores, juniors and seniors are recognizing the difference they make in everyday encounters with teachers, friends, family and new acquaintances, as well.

It has been a fun and worthwhile journey for students to gain an understanding of how they first communicated with others and how they might change their approach to better represent their sincere thoughts.  An actual mock interview assignment is right around the corner!
