Flinthills Volleyball Heading to STATE!!
The Flinthills varsity volleyball team won the Class 1A-Division 1 Sub-State Volleyball Tournament on Saturday, October 24 at Flinthills High School.
Flinthills entered as the #1 seed and was hopeful of a rematch with St. Paul. The Indians defeated Flinthills in the Sub-State Championship Match last season.
Chetopa (#5 Seed) defeated Cedar Vale/Dexter (#4 Seed) in the opening match of the day 9-25, 25-23, 25-23. Chetopa then faced the top-seeded Mustangs in the second match. Flinthills defeated Chetopa in two sets 25-11, 25-10.
St. Paul (#2 Seed) defeated Burden-Central (#3 Seed) in an exciting three set match 25-19, 20-25, 30-28.
That set up the rematch that Flinthills was hoping for as the #2 seeded St. Paul Indians would face the #1 seeded Flinthills Mustangs for the Sub-State Championship. The Mustangs were able to beat the Indians in two sets 25-14, 25-20.
The Mustangs finished the regular season with a 34-3 overall record. Flinthills will travel to Hays to compete in the Class 1A-Division 1 State Volleyball Tournament on October 30-31 at Gross Memorial Coliseum.

The 1A State Volleyball Tournament will be livestreamed via the internet. Eagle TV will be livestreaming each match at the state tournament at www.hayspost.com. If you cannot make it to Hays to support the Mustangs you are welcome to watch FREE of charge. It will be very easy to find on the Hays Post newspaper website. It will be at the top of the page on the Front as well as the sports page.
