Jamie Sundgren
Welcome To Ms. Sundgren's Classroom
I am so excited to be teaching at Flinthills. The 2022-23 school year in science is going to be full of wonderful learning experiences and excitement. My main goal is to create a classroom environment where everyone feels safe, valued, challenged, and inspired. I hope by sharing my own love of science and learning, I am able to engage my students, encourage curiosity, and instill life-long learning.
A little about me:
I was born and raised outside of Rosalia on our family ranch. I graduated from Flinthills High School and went on to attend the University of Kansas, earning a degree in human Biology. Go Hawks! I then went to Wichita State University, where I earned my teaching degree and a Masters of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction. My first teaching assignment was at Flinthills Middle School. After four years at FMS, I took a position at Wichita State University as a coordinator for a national science curriculum and also oversaw Lake Afton Observatory. After WSU, I taught high school science in El Dorado for 3 years before becoming a stay-at-home mom for twelve years to my three sons. I stay busy helping on the ranch and raising my boys. In my spare time (ha!), I love to read, fish, build various things, and spend time outdoors.
