Page for a Day in Topeka
On April 4th, 2017, four Flinthills students traveled to Topeka to serve as Pages for Kansas House of Representatives Mary Martha Good and Doug Blex. Morgan Holcomb, Reagan Heimgartner, Kadyn Nuncio and Colton Gauthier had the opportunity to serve on the Chamber Floor in the Kansas House and throughout other public areas throughout the Capitol, including the documents room, state library, and Capitol post office. The students were able to witness first hand, the workings of our state government in action. After serving in the House Chamber the students took both the Historic tour of the Capitol and the Dome tour. The State of Kansas Capitol building dome is the second highest in the country and even taller than the Capitol building in Washington. Please enjoy the slide show of the days events.
